Acer showed its new Aspire One D250 in Milan today. It’s a 2.5lb, 10.1″, XP Home equipped netbook.
There’s a built-in webcam and microphone, a multi-card reader, and standard wifi 802.11 b/g. Bluetooth and 3G connectivity are optional. The hard drive is 160GB, especially impressive given the light weight and claimed battery life (see below). It also comes with a one year warranty.
The available colors are red (ruby), white (seashell), blue (sappire), and black (diamond) colors. The press release talks a lot about its sleek design, although no picture is provided. (Image above is from Acer’s 10.1″ ultra-thin product page.)
Now, for some of the really cool features:
- Gesture-reading touch pad
- Support for up to 2GB RAM (surprising for a Win XP minilaptop)
- 7.5 hour battery life
- (I repeat) 7.5 hour battery life!
Acer’s gone a really long way with battery life. Their front page has some eight plus hour notebook models. Those notebooks and the new D250 netbooks are really impressive.
